Just as sailing and flying are different modes of transportation, face-to-face psychotherapy and e-therapy are different modes of therapy — each with its own set of distinctive features. That means that e-therapy is not the same as, and cannot universally substitute for, face-to-face psychotherapy. Rather, e-therapy is an alternative therapeutic process proving itself to be quite helpful for many e-clients dealing with a wide range of issues.
